A barefoot childhood in Jamaica.
I grew up barefoot in Jamaica, walking through the community calling out “Guinep! Guinep!” so neighbours came out to their gates, and building trucks out of milk cartons in between.
Hi, I’m Alleo. Here’s a little of how I got here, and why I look after every website personally.
I grew up barefoot in Jamaica, walking through the community calling out “Guinep! Guinep!” so neighbours came out to their gates, and building trucks out of milk cartons in between.
At 13 I moved to London. A young man on a building site showed me IT, and I promised myself it would provide for my future family.
I studied Computing at London South Bank University. Then I spent three years as an IT technician at a sixth form college in Bethnal Green, one of two technicians for the whole school.
Computers, laptops, projectors, updates, password resets: whenever something stopped working, I was the first person they came to.
I started WonderlandSites because a good website felt out of reach for most small businesses. It felt unfair, so I set out to change it. Some of my first clients are still with me today.
Chi, my wife, and I cleared £20,000 of debt in two years and saved £15,000 the year after. In 2018 we left London as a family to see the world. By 2020 we were living the dream in Playa del Carmen.
Then my health broke, and the recovery took about five and a half years. The money went with it.
It taught me the lesson nobody teaches: success that costs your health isn’t success. I call the alternative Sustainable Abundance.
“Success that costs your health isn’t success.”
Today I look after websites for UK service businesses with WonderlandSites: keeping them safe, hosted and easy to find. I teach English online, and I share what I learn as I go.
Behind the scenes I use a system I call RIVUS, so nothing gets missed.
